Privacy Policy

Cazo is built to help you keep track of your own cash: what comes in, what goes out, and what's left. This page explains what information the app handles and how.

What Cazo stores

The entries you add (dates, amounts, notes, and categories) are stored so the app can show your ledger and running balance. Cazo does not require a bank account or card connection, and it does not read your bank or payment information. Android device backup is turned off for the app. Your data, including entries and photo attachments, is stored with Supabase, our hosting and database provider.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data. We don't share your ledger entries with advertisers. We don't need access to your contacts or messages to run the app. If you attach a photo to an entry, that's the only photo we ever touch — we don't browse or access the rest of your photo library.

Account information

You need an account to add entries, and you create it with your email address. We store the minimum needed to identify that account, such as your email address, and the ledger data associated with it. Your email is used to sign you in (we send a one time code to it), to confirm account deletion, and to reply if you contact support.

Analytics

We use privacy-conscious product analytics (PostHog) to understand how the app is used and to fix problems. This includes usage events, such as which screens and features are used. Analytics events are linked to a hashed identifier, not to your name or email.

We may also use session replay (screen recordings) for diagnostics. All text inputs and images are masked, so what you type, such as amounts, notes and names, and the photos you attach, including receipt photos, are not captured.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account in the app at any time. Your profile, cashbooks, entries and photo attachments are deleted immediately and cannot be recovered. See our Delete Account page for instructions.

After you delete your account, you can optionally send a reason and a message. It is saved with the app version and platform, and without any user id, so it can't be linked to you. The app also resets its local analytics identity when your account is deleted.

Analytics data collected before deletion and anonymous deletion feedback are not linked to your identity and are not removed when you delete your account.

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
